Abbie's Tasting Notes:
1) Louis Roederer Champagne Brut Premier - Reims France - Maison Fondue en 1776 (gift from friend)
texture is full and generous, fruity and refreshing notes, a "fresh festive finesse" a full complex wine both modern and powerful, matured in oak casks, matured for 3 years in cellar, rested for 6 months after disgorgement to perfect maturity
2) Conde de Caralt - Semi-seco -Cava - Penedes Spain $8.99 at Total Wine
"elegant blend of Macabeo, Parellada, and Xarel-lo. has a brilliant light yellow color and a clean fresh nose with hints of yeast and peach blossoms. The supple palate is off-dry, carrying notes of apple, and creating a fresh, cleansing acidity. Off-dry, apple, peach, med-bodied."
3) Lamarca Prosecco
golden apple, white grape, honeysuckle flavors
4) Prosecco - blue bottle from Trader Joes $5.99
Grassy, flavor is fresh, green,
5) Prosecco - Rioudo Vue - Spago Nero
"is effusively fruity and light-bodied, and offers terrific floral notes, persistent effervescence, and a clean, delicate finish."
6) Rondel Pura Raza Brut - Cava from Spain - $7.99
More fruity than dry, "extreme brut" is filled with soft peach and nut flavors, their fragrances, lifted by white pepper and floral tones of white lilies. Briny, fresh, crisp, peach, light bodied.
7) Wolf Mountain - Dahlonega, GA - Blanc de Blanc Brut 2009
Meaning white from white this dry sparkling chardonnay expresses our signature style; light yet complex. crisp. fruity. and elegant. A light bread flavor was imparted by aging en tirage (on the yeast) for almost a year. This combined with hints of citrus. spice notes and crisp acidity
